Electrification of Containers

We have achieved a significant milestone in designing, manufacturing, and delivering a VFD control panel for our esteemed client, facilitating the electrification of a container that was subsequently transported to Iraq. This specialized container is dedicated to housing multiple Crude Oil Pumps, demanding a tailored engineering solution to control pump operations based on the density of the pumping oil, which varies with temperature fluctuations. By strategically installing adequate transmitters at the inputs and outputs of the pumps, coupled with PLC-based control and VFDs, we successfully met the client’s requirements and seamlessly integrated the panel into the system.

In addition to the VFD Control panel, we encountered another challenge: the on-site termination of cables to equipment, a task deemed difficult for on-site staff. To address this, we implemented a plug-and-play option, alleviating concerns about cable termination for the customer.

Beyond the VFD Control panel, our scope extended to supplying and installing various components, including internal light fixtures (Zone 1 & Zone 2 certified), external floodlights (IP66 rated), plug and sockets within the container (Zone 1 rated for hazardous areas), explosion-proof control panels (Ex d certified), ample Ex certified junction boxes (Ex e / Ex i), Ex d pull boxes, as well as handling all electrical-related works such as cabling and conduits.

This project stands as another testament to Orostar’s prowess in successfully delivering safe area VFD panels and a comprehensive array of Ex-proof and safe area components and panels.
